With the loss of her true love She found happiness in working towards a better world one person at a time, and fighting to uphold the values he had taught her. Full Background: Talia was born on the outskirts of nowhere and in the middle of the one place no one looks, a small town about to fall into the ocean. Her family was a memory to her before she knew who they were, and her world was the beach. Her first memory was of a sunset. She can't remember her mother's face to this day but she can remember in vivid detail that sunset. It was a quiet night on the beach, and a strange hot wind had blown in from across the ocean. The clouds had come from the ground and they were sickening reddish black, with tendrils that reached skyward. The sounds of screaming, gunfire and people running in all directions had broken the peaceful sound of waves, The rest of that night was a blur, but she remembered the sun as it set, it was red with blood and the evening star was swallowed by the dark inky black red night. Tucker told her that she must have been wandering among the dead bodies for days when he found her. He said she was burying bodies, bodies of strangers. He had asked her why she was doing it when she didn't know them. And she said that it just felt like the right thing to do. Talia doesn't remember anything of the days between that horrible sunset and when tucker found her. Tucker was a blind old sage of a man. A hermit trying to stay out of the way of the world, but who couldn't leave a child alone on in the middle of such devastation. Tucker as he called himself had been something else a long time ago but never spoke of it. He preferred to tell stories, and point out stars and constellations. He always amazed Talia, he was blind but yet he always knew where the stars were. Tucker was impressed by Talia she was a fighter deep inside and at the same time she was filled with compassion. She worked hard to learn what he had to teach her about everything, but more than anything she loved to hear him tell her about the stars. He had a story for each one, but her favorite was about the Seeker of the North Star. He gave her as much of an education that he could about the basic skills she might need when she grew up. One day in early spring Talia, (age 12) found the old man's house empty. He was gone. His things were still inside, untouched like he had gone for a walk. She waited for him that whole day and at night when she decided to play with his telescope she found a note taped to the side of it. "Follow the North Star and you shall find happiness." She was perplexed by the message but after a time realized that is was a Farwell message from the old man. She cried for days and spent weeks searching the town for a sign of where he had gone but found nothing. He never returned and she never found out what happened to him. A few months later she met a young man a few years her senior named Kaji. He was an orphan like herself. He had been living with his father learning to be a warrior through martial arts. His father died in an Abbarent incident that had left him wandering every since. Kaji was immediately taken by Talia's charm. Here she was this attractive young woman living on her own in a run-down town, yet she was optimistic and content with her life. Talia herself was fascinated with Kaji. He was different than most of the people she had met in her life, he lived by a code of honor his father had taught him and she admired it greatly. He also had this firery spirit to him that just caught her, he kept talking about how he was going to someday join the Legion. He was going to protect humanity from outside invasion and Abbarent terrorist action. He also had an extreme dislike of the Abbarent. Talia offered to let him stay in her little shack of a home if he would teach her how to fight. He not only taught her to fight, but of the way a warrior led his life. She learned his code and tried her best to follow it. Well a blind deaf bunny could see what was happening and they did in fact completely fall for each other. Talia decided that she would go with him and join the Legion. So when Talia was 17 years old they both took their saved funds and went into the city to have themselves tested. Talia did in fact have psi potential, with a strong pull to telekinesis, and lesser strengths in vitakinesis. Kaji as one would expect had a strong pull towards pk as well but more towards the realms of pyrokinetics. It was also determined that Talia was incapable of having children which made her completely miserable. She was devastated for weeks and only snapped out of her misery when Kaji arranged for her to be dunked by the Legion. Post dunking she obsessed over learning about her new abilities, trying her best to forget her sorrows in work. Kaji pulled a few strings and got them stationed together. Things seemed to be going well for Talia, she had a job she liked and a man she loved. Her past sorrows seemed to fade. But than again the kind hearted are never left at peace for long and tragedy struck Talia again. This time dealing her a horrible blow that would turn out to be one of the worst she had faced. After four years of a prefect happy life with Kaji at her side she was forced to face the world alone. He had died in the line of duty protecting her and she was devastated by it. She managed to keep her hope alive, she always had, and she started teaching martial arts classes at the boys and girl club on her days off. It was a more rewarding thing for her. There she really felt she was making a difference, she could see them changing before her eyes. She just didn't teach them to fight but she taught them what Kaji had taught her, how to live, and also what Tucker had taught, how to keep on living. After another year with Legion she left, and started living in a rundown apartment in a not so great part of town near the beach. She started letting stray kids stay at her home and she taught them. At anytime she has some where between 3-7 kids of various ages living with her. She had to make money so she found a job at a local club singing. Her classes at the local YMCA gained a bit of a following and some people paid what they could out of kindness more than anything else. She eventually moved the classes out on to the beach; she felt it was better that way. She also picked up a bit of cash on the side acting as a guard for her apartment. She's been known to help the locals out of sticky situations, and they give her as much as they can for her services. But mostly she feels that money isn't something she needs, taking care of the stray kids and teaching them how to live was enough for her. But deep down she wishes she could do more to help them to find their way to the North Star.
