Gordon sits at his desk flipping through some files, and thinking. Sarah knocks on your door, pausing in the entrance to lean slightly against the frame. "Jim?" Gordon motions you inside "Come in Lieutenant." Sarah shuts the door, before moving inside, wearily nearly collapsing in the chair. "Have a few?" Gordon glances up and smiles a bit "For you? Always." Sarah gets a small smile on her face, fleeting though it may be. She crosses her legs, one drifting over the other, bent at the knee. For a moment she remains silent then comments quietly. "Jim, there's just something funny with the entire 'Joker' case. Something that I've been thinking I've over missed." Gordon folds his hands together and nods slowly "There's always something about Joker. I've been thinking about the case as well." Sarah hrms, leg swinging back and forth as she relaxes in the chair a bit, fingers moving into her lap, "Jim, I'd like to take a look at Christiansen's file again. Something's not right there. The Diamond selling for that much? How'd the person get upstairs to give him the toxin?" Her eyebrows furrow down more. "That night, there were two sets of foot prints. One that matched, or theoretically matched the Joker's.. the other were unknown. And its just not in with the Joker's MO to repeat a crime." Gordon leans back in his chair "Rich people have rich friends. And a diamond like that is priceless." He pauses for a bit and leans forward again "But it couldn't hurt to check the file again." Sarah shakes her head. "Jim.. Not that much." She leans forward as well placing her hands on the desk, leg uncrossing as she does so. You say "Jim, ten years ago the Diamond was worth only thirty thousand dollars. Now.. its being sold in the 'million's range? Somethings *not* right there." Sarah's hand waves out. "If I had a diamond that would do that, I'd be rich as well. But they -don't- go up /that/ much .. you know?" Sarah hmms, fingers tapping on the desk. "Who do we know that could tell us .. we could consult with about such things?" Gordon glances towards the window, then back "But the do go up." Sarah's eyebrows arches. "A thousand fold?" Sarah shakes her head, hair bouncing around her shoulders. Gordon hms and nods "Well we can check the diamond again. Maybe talk to a few local jewelers about it's value. But I don't think we can discount the fact that the Joker is still involved here." Sarah hmms? She looks a tad distracted. "Oh, I'm not saying -that-.. Just this buyer so soon.. The fact its being sold for millions. And, I'd like to go over his house again. Upstairs, giving it a more thorough examination. Plus, after we get the information, I'd like to talk with this.. 'buyer'." Gordon nods "You don't need to ask me for permission Lieutenant. But a search of the house so long after the crime may not reveal too many clues." Sarah's fingers continue to tap on the desk. "I know." Sarah continues to drill her finger on the desk, before glancing at you quietly. "What have you come up with? Any.. late night visitors?" She half smirks, before giving you a serious glance. Gordon smirks "For once he is just as lost as us... " He folds his hands together again "But one thing that I've found odd is that while it usually isn't the Joker's MO to repeat a crime. It seems clear that he is doing so." Sarah leans back in her chair, a frown creasing her forehead. "So it seems." Gordon says "It could be that maybe he's trying to finished what he started in some way... Since usually his crime spree has been foiled at some point." Sarah's fingers rub her chin as she hmms to herself softly. "Finished what he started. In the Diamond case, what was he attempting to do?" Gordon hms "Well his goal was to steal the diamond, and kill off it's owner. He did succeed on the later... Perhaps we shouldn't look just at the past case, but what effect these crimes might be having on other things. If the Joker still wants the diamond, which he may then we should keep an eye on it. As you said." Sarah hmms, fingers tapping on the desk, for a moment, she just muses. "Joker steals the diamond twice, a diamond that is only worth .. maybe .. thirty thousand. Now.. a buyer for millions. " She continues to muse, her eyebrows furrowing down. "Wonder how this person will pay Christiansen.. And the Joker must have known by the rise of press, the diamond would go up /some/.. but then we have the guns too.." Gordon hms "Good point. Not only how it will be paid for, but when? Perhaps he's planning on killing two birds with one stone. He could show up when the money is passed, and steal both the diamond, and cash. " Sarah's gaze turns onto you. "Money, diamond, guns, he'd have enough to do /anything/ he wanted in Gotham, Jim.." Gordon nods slowly, glancing at you from behind his glasses "He would. A perfect crime don't you think?" Sarah's mouth twists into a deep scowl. "Almost too perfect." Sarah lets out a soft, disgusted sigh, "Then again, it does sound almost too perfect and I'm jumping up a wrong path." Gordon says "It's only a hunch. Question Christiansen again, and visit his house. And check out this buyer. I'll look over some of the Joker's past cases see what else matches. Also we'll find out when the exchange for this diamond will take place." Sarah nods, standing up, before edging herself onto the corner of the desk, eyebrows furrowed down. She brushes a strand of hair away from her face, before asking quietly. "Even if this doesn't lead us anywhere, its more than I've had in awhile." Gordon nods "Exactly." Sarah's mouth twists a moment, before she lets out another hrm, standing, facing you. "I'm going to go see what I can find, and get these going." Gordon nods slowly "Very well Lieutenant...." he pauses then looks to you "I know this case has been hard.. on us both. But don't worry we'll figure it out. And after maybe we can have a little R and R. Okay?" Sarah's gaze turns onto you, perhaps a bit sad, perhaps a bit of a smirk, as she comments. "Jim, while that would be nice, I sincerely doubt.. that will ever happen." She stands up slowly, moving over to give you a soft peck on your cheek. "I'll be at my desk." Gordon swivels his chair watching you as you leave "I can dream cant I?" He winks. Sarah pauses at the door frame, turning around to give you a wink in return. "Oh, I think thats allowed Commissioner. " She grins, before turning around, making her way out. You open the door and leave the office.
