Sarah knocks on the door, glancing inside. "Jim?" She inquires, her head tilting a bit as she looks around. Gordon sits at his desk and nods waving you inside "Come in lieutenant." Sarah closes the door behind her as she makes her way inside, "I was wondering on the wrap-up of the case..?" Her voice rings out coldly, as she moves over to the desk. Gordon sifts through the many papers amassed on his desk and pulls out a letter "Yes, I wanted your input on that. Letter from the DA, Christiansen wants to cop a plea." Sarah hrms, her mouth set into a line as she moves over, to glance down at your desk. "What kind of a bargain?" Gordon turns on a lamp near his desk to re-read the letter "He says he'll tell us everything, and plead guilty to fraud and conspiracy. In return to serve no jail time." Sarah's mouth twists. "And does the DA agree to this?" Gordon glances over "He does not think it is that bad, but was interested in our opinion." He sets the letter down "If we take into account Christiansen's age, and the fact that he won't be serving any hard time the deal is nothing major." Gordon says "As far as we know jail may be the safest place for him though. Who knows what the Joker might do if he discovers Christiansen is out."" Sarah shakes her head. "The department can't afford to keep an officer at Christiansen's home, all hours of the day. It nearly broke us keeping one there when the investigation was going on." Her mouth strays into a line. "I'm willing to go agree to the bargain, but I want to make sure he knows, unless the Joker does something direct, he has no protection against us." Gordon nods slowly "I agree, though we still might want to keep tabs on him. Perhaps one of those electronic devices they want us to try." Sarah nods, her fingers running through her hair. "All right.. " Gordon says "It will be cheeper than paying overtime, I know the mayor will be pleased." Sarah's mouth draws more into a line, before she nods slowly "Look damn good on his record as well." She comments thin lipped. Gordon nods "Though we should not worry. Christiansen's reputation is all but ruined already. The press has seen to that." Sarah sits on the edge of your desk, nodding quietly, her fingers running through her hair in a nervous motion. Gordon says "I'll talk to the DA in the morning then." Sarah nods, edging more onto the desk, as her feet dangle down. With a quiet sigh, she asks. "So, while this case ends, Joker is still on the loose." She shakes her head, disgusted. Gordon nods slowly "Unfortunately... though not for long. The Joker will not stay quiet, and when he shows up next we will have him." Sarah nods, her fingers tapping the desk in a nervous motion. "Well, is there anything else? Any .. late night chats that I should know about?" Gordon shakes his head "None tonight, and for once I'm going to go home on time. Are you ready?" Sarah's eyebrows arch, before she rises, smiling. "Yes.." She says in surprise. "I am.." A quiet smile on her face as she slides off the desk. Gordon stands up slowly and smiles. "Good... We'll pick up dinner along the way." He moves to the door "After you Mrs. Gordon." Sarah smiles, pausing long enough to lean in, placing a small kiss upon Jim's cheek. "Thank you, Mr. Gordon." She half teases, her fingers straying to his arm, linking into it before she heads out. You open the door and leave the office. Gordon enters the room from the Commissioner's office. END :)
