Agent Barnes> GCPD: Commissioner Gordon's Office Agent Barnes> While somewhat small the office is a quiet spot in the GCPD which can usually be a jungle just like the city itself. Against one wall is a small file cabinet, and a coatrack. The other has a small sofa which looks used, yet comfortable. The commissioner's desk occupies most of the space, upon it usually rest a few files and other work items. There is also a wedding picture, and a photo of Gordon and his daughter. There is only one window present, and it looks out to the city below. He stands an average height of 5'9", ad loooks fairly trim. While his white hair and mustache may sometimes give away his true age, he appears to be in the same shape he was some 20 years ago. His blue eyes are covered by a pair of wire rimed glasses that are always worn. He is currently wearing a pair of dark slacks, white shirt, vest, and tie. When he is outside these cloths are usually covered by a long trench coat. Like all officers he also carries his firearm, and badge with him at all times. His coat pocket a lso caries his pipe and tobacco, even though he has quit the habit. Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes(#493Dp) Agent Barnes> This is a young man, probably just out of college. He has brown hair in a perpetual tousle, large brown eyes set to either side of a hooked nose, and a cheap, though well-fitting black suit. He moves somewhat awkwardly, as if his arms were a little too long for his body. Agent Barnes> Gotham: Skyline--Gotham Bay Agent Barnes> The views here are probably better than any other in the city, unless you are attop the Twin Towers in the Business District. Of course Wayne Tower in Midtown is very impressive rising over 1,061 feet into the air. The Kane center at 1,208 feet is an equal giant. Boats and ships can be seen over Gotham Bay and the Waterfront, and at night one can see the special signal that emits from the GCPD roof. Agent Barnes> Gordon goes and sits down at his desk "I must commend you on this report." He holds it in the air, then flips through it "Very nice work." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "Thank you, sir." Agent Barnes> Gordon says "So I am correct in assuming that if the Joker were to transmit again we'd be able to track him yes?" Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "We'd have a much better crack at him, yes sir. If he broadcasts, practically every high-end receiver is ready to make a recording. We could have a location within minutes of the broadcast." Agent Barnes> Gordon nods "But that doesn't do us much good now rather than giving a vague area." Agent Barnes> You say "That's correct, sir. Now, if we could find more recordings of the broadcast, we could analyze them and reduce the possible area. But I'm afraid I've tapped my contacts on this one." Agent Barnes> You say "We were going to issue a press release saying we were looking for recordings of it, but Officer Crane said that might tip off the Joker." Agent Barnes> Gordon nods slowly "Yes we wouldn't want to provoke him. Though with the Joker's MO his acts are always random. Waiting could hurt us." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "So I've heard, sir. I've looked back at the previous diamond theft...he did make another broadcast two nights later. That was the one announcing the Judge Drake murder, and then the Ruggers Ruby theft. But it's been two nights, and nada." Agent Barnes> Gordon folds his hands together and hrms "True enough. Well as of now I think a public display will just cause a panic, harming just more people. Have all the equipment ready. If the Joker broadcasts again I want him." Agent Barnes> You say "Yes, sir." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes pauses. "I do have another suggestion, sir, I want to run it by you to see if you think it's plausible." Agent Barnes> Gordon nods and listens "Go ahead." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes says, slowly, but with increasing confidence. "You'll note that in Section 10 of the report, I describe the sort of equipment necessary for the Joker to make his broadcast. Now the power to run that equipment, even for a eighteen second broadcast like his is not negligible, and would definitely show up if we were to check the power draw to the building, or even, to a lesser degree, on the local transformer." Agent Barnes> You say "Wouldn't it be possible to disguise officers as power company workers, pair them with actual workers, and go door-to-door in the area we found?" Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes immediately starts backpedaling. "I don't know how many people you have to spare for undercover work...it might not come up with anything...it's hard to say..." Agent Barnes> Gordon hms thinking for a moment "Interesting angle Barnes. This case is a top priority. Speak with Lieutenant Essen about the matter. But I'm sure we can spare the men." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "Yes, sir. I'll talk to her about it." He pauses again, looking out the window again, like he'd rather be anywhere but in this city, in this office, on this case. Agent Barnes> Gordon nods "If there is anything else you know where my office is." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes moves for the door. "Yes, sir." It closes behind him with a dull clunk.
