Agent Barnes> Gotham: GCPD -- Main Entrance Agent Barnes> A slick to a shine, tiled floor, and walls plastered in off-white brilliance, greets the eye, with lighting along the ceiling. The main entrance of the Gotham City Police Department is sectioned off into two parts. To the front, officers stand behind an information desk, assisting those that enter to their desired location. Along the west wall, a closed door leads into a stairwell, with metal stairs leading up and down. To the north, a hallway leads towards the holding cells area. Cameras are located along the walls keeping a close eye on all that go through, or come out. Officers move in and around during all hours, as the men and women of the GCPD work to keep Gotham safe. She is slender, but toned and somewhat muscular for her size. You estimate that she is around 5'6". She has smooth, fair skin. Her hair is thick and dark brown with some notice ble red highlights. She usually wears her hair pulled back into a tight ponytail to keep it out of her face, but when down hangs about halfway down her upper back. A few stray wisps of hair frame her face. She casually brushes them aside and out of her gr ay eyes. She is wearing a tight, light blue sweater with a high neck, reaching down to just above her hips. Her dark blue jeans are loose enough to let her move freely. Sami prefers dressing casually to her GCPD uniform but always has her gun nearby just in case. On her feet she wears a pair of black, thick-soled sneakers. She checks her watch for a moment before again brushing some hair out of her face. Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes(#493Dp) Agent Barnes> This is a young man, probably just out of college. He has brown hair in a perpetual tousle, large brown eyes set to either side of a hooked nose, and a cheap, though well-fitting black suit. He moves somewhat awkwardly, as if his arms were a little too long for his body. Agent Barnes> The desk sergeant glances up, spotting Sam, he points and continues with his work. Samantha's attention is already on you, she examines your credentials. "Good afternoon. I am Officer Crane, may I help you?" Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "Ah, yeah. I just came over from the Trenton field office...I've been assigned to the Joker case myself. When he turned on that transmitter he added a few dozen federal broadcast violations to his record. Now I know that's small potatos to you, but I think we may be able to track down where he was broadcasting from, and that's gotta sound good." He smiles winningly. Agent Barnes> Samantha nods . o O (Like we haven't thought of that. Well, let's see what he's got) "Yes, that could prove an immense help. We didn't hear the actual broadcast, ourselves." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "Neither did I. Fortunately, we've got recordings from three area radio stations, and that helped me get started." He puts his briefcase down on a nearby desk and pulls out a stack of papers. "Here's the preliminary report . With these three recordings, we can narrow it to a four-block area. If we find more, we can re-interpret the data to narrow it further." Agent Barnes> You say "The other news is that he actually made two broadcasts, one to block the main signal, one to block the repeater at the north end of town. That's good news and bad: bad because it's harder to track that way, good because it means he's got a fairly professional setup, and it's not going to be mobile." Agent Barnes> Samantha nods to the stack of paper, "May I take a look at those?" Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods and hands it over. "Sure. Copy if off, pass it around." Agent Barnes> You say "Uh, there's a glossary in the back if some of it is...y'know, technical gibberish." Agent Barnes> Samantha flips through the paper, hmming every so often. She glances up and mutters, "Uh, thanks." Agent Barnes> Samantha finishes and hands the pile to a nearby rookie to go xerox. "Anything else to work with?" Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes shrugs. "Hey, not everyone's an electrical engineer." He grins again, then gets serious at her question. "Nothing yet. Finding more recordings would be helpful, and if we actually find the place, it'll be a snap to trace the equ ipment to a supplier." Agent Barnes> Samantha nods. "Which stations have you gotten recordings from?" Agent Barnes> You say "WGTM...that one is the most valuable...WXRV and WERT. Now it doesn't have to be from a radio station...in fact, I've already called most of the other ones. Could be from anyone or anything...we're going to put out a press release to night, if that's all right with your people, that says we're looking for them." Agent Barnes> Samantha shakes her head. "We send out a press release, the Joker's on to us. Even though he seems like the kind who'd be well aware of our plans, we can't risk it." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes hms and nods. "What do you suggest?" He pauses a moment, then seems to get an idea...then looks downcast again. "I was about to say we could canvas the 4-block area looking for excessive power draws, door-to-door sort of thing, but I guess that would tip him off, too." Agent Barnes> Samantha gnaws on her lower lip. "Hold on to that idea, but let's try and think of an alternative. I'm afraid I really don't know much about radio waves and such." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes nods. "Well, if we're not going to look for recordings, there's nothing we can do radio-wise except wait for another broadcast, and that's probably unacceptable. It draws a lot of power to make that kind of broadcast, but we don 't know where to look for it. Similarly with the equipment." Agent Barnes> Agent Barnes OOC S'all right, I have to go soon, too. Barnes gives you a card where you can reach him. Feel free to pass along info to Sarah and Gordon.
