dismemberment.

Stole & smashed, used knives from kitchen.

Espec. on Lord Haley & Colette (eldest daughter).

Haley & Lord Hazen had same courtier, Rosalyn Swayle. Pierce Winthrop was
also involved with her. Says other vengeances are being taken. (For her or
someone else?) RS is missing, there are signs fo a struggle at her house,
knives missing, door open.

Her (?) body turned up in the Old Quarter, recovered by Hammerites,
brought to the Digger, someone (PW?) paid for it to be taken to the
Bonehoard & interred.  Didn't die easily, stabbed with a variety of
knives, right-handed stabbing motion, few other signs.  (Animal activity.)

Magic use, flashbomb + ??? Angel has residue.

The new Di Rossi butler is a former Haley butler.

Is there a link to Cragscleft? Thornton: YES.
Possible trip there (probably not).

Rosalyn Swayle had a kid, possibly "D. Swayle" who was busted for jewel
thievery.

15 years ago, big jewel theft case that was swept under the rug.  Squat
for evidence, removed.  Silvanus & Sons robbed, description of the jewels,
valuable, very old. Elder Silvanus thinking over cooperation. D. Swayle
would have been 18. Sent to Cragscleft. R. Riley and M. Farina are the
accomplices. 

M. Farina = Michael Farina, Newmarket pickpocket who was released from
Cragscleft about 2 mo. before the jewel theft case. 

S&S had just gotten the jewel as part of another shipment. Sidney Silvanus
(is the son).

Judge Eliot Norell, ret. handled the case. Won't talk. 

Sgt. Edward Conroy (now Captain, in charge of the Haley case), and Sgt.
Mason (now Sherriff, in charge of Conroy) handled the case and got
"confessions" from the culprits. But not the location of the jewel.

Hammerite patrols in the Old City, looking for psychos? With lawnmower
blades?

SMUGGLING

Kingsley connected to smuggling. Have the ledger, need to translate. Uses
a warehouse with day labor, etc.  Nightwind = ship, Austen = warehouse
foreman.

Possibly for Spenser? Kingsley is small time just paying the minimum vig.

Cap'n Jamison of the Elsie, cased the area, he left. Missed opportunity.

POSSIBLE SLAVERY RING

Linked to Kingsley somehow?

Victor Brinmore, whoremonger. Has private docks, a small storage area. If
slaves, then where are food and supplies? Where kept?

SPICE SMUGGLING

Town Guard fracas with smugglers. All 10 badguys, including workers. 8
guards ambushed thm, 4 dead, all injured. Spice captured and destroyed.
