Legal Research Resources

• The best legal site (and one of the most tabloidy!!) I've come across so far is the CourtTV site! They regularly update their page and have stories and legal documents from the public record of many ongoing cases.
• Coming in a close second is Findlaw, including LawCrawler and CaseLaw, some of the best free legal resources out there.
• Search the Supreme Court Decision database at Findlaw. I have imported the bare-bones form code. If you want more options or a wider search, you really ought to check out Findlaw itself.

History of Law and Historic Cases

• The Brown v. Board of Education Interactive Experience. Netscape users may get annoyed at the big font. Use lynx already! This is a very interesting page about a fascinating and important case.
• The Lindbergh Trial. Yes, you read that URL right --- a whole site dedicated to the trial of the century...did they get the right man? Did they even get close? Does it really matter anymore?

Law and Politics, Law in Practice

• The Southern Poverty Law Center, a well-known civil rights activist group.
• The Institute for First Amendment Studies. This group focuses on the 'establishment of religion' portions of the First Amendment, particularly as it regards the evolution of the Religious Right.
• The Militia Watchdog. Run by Dr. Pitcavage (also of alt.war.civil.usa fame), this is an excellent site examining right-wing militias and their activities.
• Cap'n Mikey's Anti-Hate Page. An Oklahoma police captain speaks out about his experiences with hate crimes and hate organizations. "IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS!"
• I'm an opponent of capital punishment. One of the best factual, unbiased resources on capital punishment out there is The Electric Chair. The authors did a mini-documentary on the electric chair at Sing Sing prison and have done an outstanding job of putting together a lot of resources on it, and other means and places of capital punishment. This is not a political site by any means! I would recommend it even to supporters of capital punishment.
• HateWatch, an Internet hate-crime and hate-group monitoring organization.

Law and the Internet

• The ABA Project on Internet Jurisdiction. An interesting cyberlaw resource dealing with the procedural problems the Internet raises.
• Cyberspace Law Subject Index. An absolutely invaluable resource provided by the John Marshall Law School.

• The University of Arizona Law School. Where you can find me most of the day.
• The First Case In The World Game! This game is even fun for people who aren't law students! Take a spin and see what you think.
• Jason's Outlines. Better than commercial outlines and on the cheap, too!
