From Mutant Mob by Joseph Vanzello, 2001
The Kalasvanian Mafia, after first being identified in 1978, has come from humble beginnings as a drug distribution and murder for hire network to one of the dominant forces in European organized crime. The recruitment of mutants has allowed "KM", as it is called in law enforcement parlance, to commit more severe and more outlandish crimes than its competitors, most spectacularly the violent public liquification of the Lithuanian Chief of Assembly who had been conducting investigations into KM corruption charges in that nation.
